Education: Our Teachers Need to be Appreciated

One of my proudest achievements is founding the Utah Teacher Appreciation Night event at the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium.  I love, support, and advocate for Utah teachers.  Utah teachers do so much with so little, yet they are some of the best educators in the entire nation.  They are a vital part of our children’s education and Utah’s future.

Considering all the wonderful and too often unnoticed work they do, I believe we should show these hardworking teachers our appreciation and gratitude.  To this end, I helped found the Utah Teacher Appreciation Night event. This annual event is held at the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium and is supported by the Jordan Education Foundation and other community partners.  Together, these partners and I have worked hard to ensure these dedicated and exceptional Utah teachers are recognized and their hard work doesn’t go unnoticed.

I love being active in the community and supporting Utah educators, from the Utah Teacher Appreciation Night to making bulletin boards, organizing parties, planning field trips, and helping teachers in the classroom at my son’s local charter school.  I have enjoyed being a member of the Student Community Council and the PTA at Draper Park Middle School, and volunteering for ADHD events and special needs camps.  Being an active volunteer in the community is a wonderful way to secure a better future for our children, thank our wonderful teachers, and help improve our community.
